Quest: Tirion’s Gamble

May 9, 2009

It’s been a long week because of an organic chemistry exam I had on Friday. It went awful unfortunately but at least I have time to play WoW for a bit… before finals come next week.

Well WotLK has definitely added some pretty epic quests, the Battle for the Undercity quest line being my favorite. But I just recently finished Tirion’s Gamble quest line. This was an interesting quest line that required a lot of flying and my mount is VERY slow (60% still….). Well something interesting happened. I think someone just finished the quest as I showed up because I walk into the room where you see a pretty cool fight between the Knights of the Ebon Blade and the Lich King’s minions and the Lich King is kneeling there injured and I’m able to attack him so I did and of course he 1 hits me.

Yes I am proud to say I have been killed by the Lich King and hopefully this will be the first of many deaths at his hand.  Anyways, I then promptly found my body and completed the quest as it was intended.  Pretty cool!

Yup, yup very cool Blizzard!  This brings me up to some random thoughts/mutterings I think Blizzard should implement in future patches and expansions.  More epic quest lines such as this and the Battle for the Undercity quest would be nice.  These really let the players get the feeling they’re doing something awesome in the World of Warcraft.  Nothing is cooler than interacting with the heroes or villains in the game.  Also a couple new classes would be cool.  I was thinking maybe Warden as a new regular class but that would be kind of like a warrior, but cooler.  Kind of redundant but I’m just spitting out ideas.  Maybe a Ranger, like a Hunter with not so good bow skillz but better melee skills?  Also sort of redundant though.  Or make the Ranger the Human Hunter class or something.  For Hero Classes I was thinking maybe the Necromancer, a Death Knight on magic, or the Demon Hunter would be cool.

A Demon Hunter class would be awesome!  Take a Warlock, give him melee/physical damage instead of magic and make him blind!  How awesome would that be?  Blizzard, I’m currently unemployed fyi.

So yesterday’s (or rather today’s really really early) Naxx run went much better than my first run. If it weren’t 2:45 realm time (3:45 Eastern time for me) we might have finished the entire raid. We were severely undermanned for most of our Heroic Naxx run. We 20 manned Anub’Rhekan and the Black Widow wiping maybe 5 times. But the group was cool and didn’t bolt after we wiped a couple times. Then we 22 manned Maexxna. So at least I got to experience 1 wing of the raid. Unfortunately the one drop that I wanted I didn’t roll high enough for but o well.

Hopefully this group will be better than my previous failed run…

I’ll post something tomorrow about the outcome of the raid.

H VoA and other Heroic shenanigans

April 30, 2009

Ok so this will be my first legitimate post as I try and figure my way around the world of blogging.

So yesterday I had a pretty eventful day in the World of Warcraft.  First off, I finally succeeded in defending Wintergrasp.  I play on a Horde DOMINATED server so defending WG is a huge accomplishment to me.  After defending WG I PuGed 25 man Archavon the Stone Watcher.  I’m not a hardcore raider and Archavon is the only Wrath raid boss I’ve successfully raided.  We wiped once and like usual after downing him my group begins leaving so I’ve still never taken down Emalon the Storm Watcher.

It’s ok though because I managed to win the Deadly Gladiator’s Chain Gauntlets (when I learn to link items I will).  I finally rolled something good (an 86) but then some other guy in my party rolled a 93 and I kind of died a little on the inside.  But the lootmaster realized he wasn’t a Hunter and awarded me the loot, whew…

Other than that I did 2 heroics trying to save up for some more awesome gear.  I did H Violet Hold which is pretty easy and great for me because I’m a skinner and I can skin all the dragonkins.  Borean Leather is pretty profitable.  Secondly, I did H Azjol-Nerub.  Now this one was actually difficult.  We wiped maybe 4 or 5 times (35g repair bill afterwards).  It was mainly the final boss that was getting us.  Our healer kept running out of mana and our tank kept dying but we eventually finished it.  And God bless the priest in our group because she gave me 25g to help pay for my repair bill.  Not a bad day at all…
